One dead in Trempealeau Co. car crash
TOWN OF PRESTON, Wis. (WKBT)- One person is dead after a head-on crash Friday afternoon in Trempealeau County.
The sheriff says a Dodge pick-up truck was traveling north on Highway 53 near Brekke Ridge Road in the Town of Preston just before 5:00 p.m. when it crossed the center line and struck a Nissan pick-up traveling south.
The driver of the Dodge was not wearing their seatbelt and died at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan was wearing their seatbelt and was taken to Tri-County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 53 was closed for 2 1/2 hours.
Blair/Preston Fire Department, Whitehall Fire Department, Tri-County Ambulance and Gundersen Air helped with the crash.
Names of those involved will not be released until the investigation is finished.
