Onalaska organizes new summer community event

'Celebrate Onalaska' to run June 26-28 next summer, take place of Sunfish Days

Onalaska will be bringing its community together in a big way next summer.

The city is planning for a two-and-a-half day event they’re calling “Celebrate Onalaska.”

Organizers say it’s a chance for people to see everything the city has to offer.

Each day will have its own theme, with live music, a 5K run and many kid-friendly activities.

The event replaces Sunfish Days, which was held for the last time about five years ago.

Since then, Onalaska Police Chief Jeff Trotnic says the city has been looking for another way to bring the community together.

“It’s going to bring back something that will enable the citizens to come out and enjoy the time, not only with fellow citizens, but people from other communities,” said Chief Trotnic.

“Celebrate Onalaska” will run from June 26th through June 28th.
