Onalaska elementary school hosts school district’s food pantry
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — A local elementary school is making sure Onalaska families have enough to eat this holiday season.
Irving Pertzsch Elementary is home to the Onalaska School District’s food pantry, and it opened Friday for its monthly distribution event. Each month, the District’s food pantry opens for any family whose children attend an Onalaska school, including home-schooled.
“The amount that we’re giving isn’t a huge amount, but hopefully it can help over some of the trouble spots and just add a few staples that can help them get to the next week,” said Onalaska School District Food Pantry Volunteer Joann Wickizer.
You can find a schedule of distribution days for the current school year on the Onalaska School District’s website.
