Onalaska continues search for city adminstrator

The city of Onalaska Common Council is moving closer to finding a city administrator.

Earlier this year, the city decided to create a position to take on administrative work while the mayor acts as a part-time city ambassador.

Members of the Common Council will meet with four applicants Wednesday.

The council will ask each applicant the same questions and score their answers.

The council says it is looking someone who can improve the city.

“Basically all of us are looking for somebody who really wants to be involved in Onalaska, its growth, be aware of what our goals are for this community, what we’re looking for the future. (We are looking for) someone who has an educational background that can do everything from looking for grants, maybe better ways for us to do things, to get more bang for the buck,” Bob Muth, Onalaska Common Council president, said.

The council is still accepting applications.
