Onalaska Community Thanksgiving dinner a community effort

The Onalaska Enhancement Foundation put on the city’s annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday.

Between 150 and 200 volunteers served about 1,500 meals and delivered about 200 to those who couldn’t make it.

The event is in its seventh year and has grown each year.

Onalaska Enhancement Foundation President Tom Brewer said it’s a community effort, with businesses, civic organizations and students doing their part for an event that welcomes everyone.

“There are so many different types of people coming together, different military families, different groups, different ages, everyone coming together, those that are in need and those that just want to celebrate Thanksgiving together,” he said.
