Onalaska apartment complex plans move forward

Plans for a housing development in Onalaska are moving forward.

The Onalaska Plan Commission approved the General Development Plan for a $16 million apartment complex in the downtown area.

The developer is proposing a 98-unit apartment complex that would be placed near the Great River Landing on the old Public Works Department site.

Six out of seven on the Plan Commission voted to approve the project.

The full council will vote next on whether to approve or deny the plans.

If the plan is approved, construction is expected to start in April and be completed by June of 2020.
