Oktoberfest highlights new events
Family Day among new changes for 2015 Oktoberfest celebration
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — There are a few new changes for this year’s Oktoberfest celebration. Oktoberfest will be held October 1-4 this year at the North and Southside Oktoberfest festgrounds.
The Carnival on the Northside Grounds will open early this year on Wednesday, September 30 at 4 p.m. Only the carnival will be open on Wednesday, food vendors and beverage sales on the Northside Grounds will commence on Thursday, October 1.
The Southside Oktoberfest Grounds will open at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 1. In addition to the Lederhosen Lunch in the Kaplan Festzelt, the array of food vendors on the Southside Grounds will also be open to the public for lunch. Choices will be the traditional German fare of the Lederhosen Lunch with music by the Oktoberfest Singers or the variety offered by our Bier Garden food vendors. Music on the CenturyLink Garden stage will also start at 11 a.m. and run through the afternoon and early evening.
Altra Federal Credit Union will be the new presenting sponsor of the Maple Leaf Parade. The 2015 parade is shaping up to be another blockbuster!
Family Day with music and events for all ages will be featured on the Northside Grounds on Sunday, October 4. It starts with the UW-L Screaming Eagle Marching Band at 12:30 p.m., followed by the Coulee Region Dance Competition and Coulee Region Highlights. No button will be required for admission and no beer sales will be held on the Northside on Sunday.
