Oktoberfest family spreads gemütlichkeit in the community
The Royal Family will visit 30 stops this week
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Oktoberfest may be over, but this week is actually one of the busiest of the year for the Royal Family.
The group made several stops today including Gentle Lambs Daycare and the senior care center in Onalaska.
Those are just two of more than 30 stops the Royal Family will be making this week teaching youngsters about Oktoberfest and bringing the Fest to the eldery who weren’t able to celebrate in person this year.
“A woman this morning, it was the first year she wasn’t able to be down there herself and so we were able to bring a little bit of that parade to her today in song and spirit, and that was very special,” says this year’s Festmaster Chuck Roth.
Miss La Crosse Oktoberfest Zoe Roou adds, “I asked one little girl, ‘What was your favorite song?’ And she’s like, ‘I like the one where you did the thumbs up,’ so that was our Ein Prosit. So it was special to bring in the younger generation into Fest.”
The Royal Family will continue to make public appearances throughout the year until next year’s Royal Family is named.
