Oktoberfest celebrations kick off with busy first day in La Crosse
The celebration takes to the sky with a fireworks display.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The Festmaster and Royal Family will be busy beginning Thursday morning.
The fest gets started with a senior breakfast at the downtown fest grounds beginning at seven in the morning.
Admission is free.
Also at the fest grounds, the Lederhosen Lunch which starts at 11 a.m.
At the same time, the Special Fester Carnival starts at the north side fest grounds at Copeland Park.
Later in the afternoon, the downtown fest grounds open at four.
Admission passes are required.
Then the Torchlight Parade will light up the north side starting at 7 p.m.
The parade starts at Gillette and Kane Street, traveling west on Gillette before turning south on Caledonia Street.
And after the parade, the torchlight after glow party starts at seven at Copeland Park.
And at 9 p.m., the celebration takes to the sky with a fireworks display.
The La Crosse Skyrockers will launch shows both Thursday and Saturday.
