Officials host groundbreaking for new addition at Luther High School
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — Faculty and staff at Onalaska Luther High School will soon have more room to teach students.
Dozens gathered this afternoon for a special groundbreaking ceremony for its ‘Rise Up and Build’ initiative.
The 38,000 square-foot addition will include a new auditorium and chapel, two floors of classroom space, a sports field reconstruction and parking lot.
Dean of students, Pastor Jon Bilitz, said construction will start as soon as school is out. He said they hope the chapel and auditorium are finished by next March.
“Exciting certainly for me as a staff member and for the rest of the staff as well, but the biggest excitement is for students and future students of Luther High School,” said Bilitz.
Over half of the $7.5 million needed for the two initial phases of the expansion has already been collected or pledged.
