Judy Loretta (Eilers) Knickerbocker

Judy L. Knickerbocker, age 79 of Prairie du Chien passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg, IA. She was born at the family home in National, IA on September 4, 1943, the daughter of Seremus and Sylveria (Nieland) Eilers. The youngest of seven children, Judy grew up on the family farm in National, IA and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Garnavillo, IA. She moved to Prairie du Chien with her family and was employed at the 3M Company there for 32 years until retirement. Judy met the love of her life Gary Knickerbocker and they were married for 58 years and had three children. Gary preceded her in death on January 16, 2022. She is survived by her children Tom (Jeannine) and Tanya Knickerbocker; her sister Mary Reimer; and her grandchildren Jackson and Brandon Knickerbocker. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant child Jackie, her sisters Cecelia Schmelzer and Clothilda Lestina, and her brothers Cyril, Lavern, and Kenneth Eilers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service.
