Norskedalen festival celebrates old-fashioned Christmas
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — On top of giving, the holidays are also a time for tradition. On Saturday, Norskedalen nature and heritage center celebrated its old-fashioned Christmas.
The celebration was held in Coon Valley and included traditional Norwegian activities as well as a horse-drawn wagon, a blacksmith making Christmas ornaments, a Norwegian bake sale, and even Santa making an appearance.
Organizers of the event say this year’s celebration was a huge success.
“It’s been an amazing day. We’ve had a lot of familiar faces. A lot of members have been here. We’ve had a lot of new faces. We see a lot of the kids that have been out here for our education programs. They come up and say ‘hey remember me?’ It’s just been a really good day,” said Norskedalen Executive Director Lori Dubczak.
All proceeds from Saturday’s celebration went to support Norskedalen activities and education programs.
