‘No One is Above the Law’ La Crosse rally organized after Sessions’s resignation
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s resignation, and Matthew Whittaker’s opposition to the Russia investigation, has sparked hundreds of rallies across the country, including in La Crosse.
The “No One is Above the Law” rallies claim replacing Sessions is an attempt by President Trump to interfere with that investigation. Rally organizers say Whittaker should recuse himself from the investigation, like Sessions did.
“This is about accountability because we’re here to say no one is above the law. This isn’t about republicans and democrats, this is about finding out what has compromised our American elections and holding those individuals and organizations accountable,” said Community Organizer Megan Grinde.
La Crosse’s rally was hosted by “Indivisible La Crosse,” a local liberal group focused on opposing legislation they believe will move America in the wrong direction.
