No one injured in La Crosse attic fire

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — No one was injured Wednesday night in a La Crosse fire that was contained to the attic.

The La Crosse Fire Department was dispatched at 10:55 p.m. to a fire at a single-family home at 1519 Ninth St. S. It arrived in 3 minutes and 55 second to find light smoke coming from the residence.

Crews were able to contain the fire to the attic and put it out by 11:22 p.m. Investigators determined the fire was accidental and caused by an electrical problem.

All residents were evacuated.

The building sustained moderate smoke and fire damage in the attic.

Twenty firefighters and seven pieces of apparatus from the La Crosse fire Department responded to the emergency. Tri-State Ambulance, the La Crosse Police Department and Xcel Energy also assisted.
