No injuries in southside La Crosse structure fire

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A woman and her dog safely evacuated her residence during a structure fire on La Crosse’s southside Sunday.

According to a news release from the La Crosse Fire Department, crews were dispatched for a fire in the basement at a residence located on 2210 Barnabee Rd at about noon.

Firefighters discovered a fire in the laundry room and quickly put it out.

The fire department arrived to the scene in less than four minutes.

The residence suffered minor smoke and fire damage, according to the release.

Xcel Energy assisted the fire department during the incident.

Fire officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
