NFL to scrap two weeks of 2020 preseason
The NFL will be cutting the number of preseason games in half this season, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
The outlet first reported that the league will get rid of preseason Weeks 1 and 4. ESPN reports that the decision is based on the understanding that players will need longer to get in football shape, with the entire offseason being virtual to this point.
The Packers as a result will not play the Cardinals Aug. 15 or the Chiefs Sept. 3. They will still host the Browns Aug. 22 and visit the Giants Aug. 29.
