Winona first responders get fundraising help from Santa Claus

Winona first responders get fundraising

WINONA, Min. (WKBT) - Pickwick Fire and Rescue held their annual Breakfast with Santa fundraiser Saturday morning in Winona.

People could enjoy a meal at the station, as well as a bake sale and a visit with Santa.

The money raised by the event goes to buying medical equipment for the first responders, like oxygen tanks and Narcan.

Because it's a private, non-profit fire department, it counts on events like this to help pay for supplies.

"People just want to come out and spend time with their neighbors. They give to the fire department, and they give well, and we do appreciate that," said Bob Bruno, a public safety officer.

Pickwick Fire and Rescue will also be holding a spaghetti dinner in the spring.
