St. Paul's Lutheran Church observes Easter Eve with Guarding of the Tomb

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) - Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Onalaska continued their Guarding of the Tomb reenactment Saturday. The Guarding of the Tomb started on Friday. Until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, groups dressed as Romans guarding the tomb of Jesus Christ.

A pastor at St. Paul's, Dan Olson, said it's a unique way to invite the community to celebrate Easter with them, and it could be spreading.

"I had some other people, not in the area but other churches, who asked how we did this. So, they're starting it in their own communities in different places around Wisconsin and around the United States because they heard about what we were doing here," said Olson.

Easter services at Saint Paul's start at 6:00 a.m. Sunday. There will also be services at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

An Easter breakfast will be at 7:15 a.m. An egg hunt will be at 9:30 a.m.
