Nearly all of the power lost following a deadly tornado that killed two people and flattened parts of a northern Michigan community has been restored. The state police said Sunday that everyone has been accounted for in Gaylord where Friday afternoon’s EF3 tornado also injured more than 40 people. Authorities said Saturday that they were unable to account for one person. The tornado packed winds of 140 mph that tore roofs and walls from businesses and practically destroyed a mobile home park in the town, about 230 miles northwest of Detroit. State police said Sunday that electricity has been restored to 99% of utility customers in Gaylord.

Officials in Maryland say that 27 people have suffered minor injuries after a bus crashed and rolled on I-95 north of Baltimore. The Baltimore County Fire Department said in a statement that the crash occurred near Kingsville, Maryland, shortly before 7 a.m. The vehicle was operated by megabus and was carrying 47 people. Officials said that 15 of the 27 people who were injured were taken to local hospitals. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Maryland State Police are investigating.

Two men have been charged in a shooting that left two people dead and seven others hurt outside a fast food restaurant just blocks from Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile shopping district. Chicago police says 21-year-old Jaylun Sanders of Chicago faces first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder and other charges., while 20-year-old Kameron Abram of Riverdale is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and other charges. Both are due Sunday in Chicago’s Central Bond Court. Thursday night's shooting sent bystanders scattering, including a female who was critically injured when she fell onto a third rail in a nearby subway station where many bystanders ran for safety.

Attorneys for actor Amber Heard have been trying to portray Johnny Depp in a Virginia courtroom as a jealous and drunken abuser. And they say he is the only one to blame for his nose-diving Hollywood career. Heard's attorneys are trying to undermine Depp’s libel lawsuit against Heard. Depp's suit claims that she falsely portrayed him as a domestic abuser and cost him his lucrative film career. But Heard's attorneys spent much of last week trying to prove otherwise. They've called various witnesses. They have included Depp's former longtime agent who said he was frequently late to movie sets. Another witness was actor Ellen Barkin. She dated Depp in the 1990s and said he was jealous and controlling.

Kate McKinnon and Pete Davidson are among those departing from “Saturday Night Live,” leaving the sketch institution without arguably its two most famous names after Saturday's finale of its 47th season. Aidy Bryant and Kyle Mooney will also leave the cast after the episode hosted by Natasha Lyonne. The 38-year-old McKinnon won two Emmys in her 10 seasons on the show, during which her impressions included Hillary Clinton and former Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Her comic chops with characters frequently drove castmates and hosts to lose it live on air. The 28-year-old Davidson joined the cast in 2014 and has appeared in eight seasons.

Survivors and church leaders are joining in prayer nearly a week after a deadly shooting at a Taiwanese American church congregation in California. They are also thanking community members in Laguna Woods for their support. The community is reeling after last Sunday's attack on a luncheon of the Irvine Taiwanese Presbyterian Church killed one and wounded five. One survivor says he wasn't afraid during the shooting as he didn't know what was happening at the time, but since then he can't sleep. Pastor Albany Lee says trauma specialists will be available to assist community members and a prayer service will be held on Sunday.

A late spring Colorado snowstorm that dumped several inches in the Denver metro area knocked out electricity for about 210,000 customers. The KUSA television station reported Saturday that that the wet snow weighed down tree branches and sent them toppling onto power lines. Xcel Energy Colorado says that by Saturday night, power had been restored to 160,000 customers but about 50,000 still did not have it back. Much more snow fell in mountainous areas. Southern California police say a man was killed and eight people were wounded during a shooting at a large party held at a strip mall hookah lounge. San Bernardino police said Saturday that officers dispatched late Friday found man who had been killed in the strip mall parking lot in the city east of Los Angeles. Eight people were wounded. Police say their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. Two people were detained and one was arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen gun. They were not identified.

Two Republican frontrunners are hoping to clinch primary victories in Georgia. Candidates in the state are making their final pitches to Georgia voters ahead of Tuesday’s election. Gov. Brian Kemp and former football star Herschel Walker hope to win GOP majorities and clinch nominations for governor and U.S. senator on Tuesday without runoffs. Kemp spoke to voters at a rally with Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts showing up to support him. Walker was scheduled to rally later Saturday in Columbus. For Kemp, an outright win would be vindication after months of attacks from former President Donald Trump.

Early Voting held off hard-charging favorite Epicenter to win the Preakness Stakes. Early Voting stalked behind the leaders for much of the race before moving into the lead around the final turn. The Preakness was run without Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike after his owner prioritized extra rest. Early Voting went off at 5-1. Epicenter finished second for a second consecutive Triple Crown race. Trainer Chad Brown won his second Preakness after doing it with the same owners in 2017 with Cloud Computing. Jockey Jose Ortiz won his first Preakness.
