LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- Small business and non-profit leader Rebecca Cooke brought her "Cooke Out" campaign event to La Crosse Sunday afternoon.
Cooke is running is running to be the democratic nominee for Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District. On Sunday, she held her signature "Cooke Out" at Badger Hickey Park to speak to the community.
She talked about what policies she's focusing on during her campaign.
"Making healthcare more affordable for accessible and affordable for folks. I'm hearing from a lot of people in this district concerns about affordable housing, so expanding federal community block grants. And finally, to increase the federal minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour," she tells News 8 Now.
Cooke says she plans to do a 19-county district tour to get to know more voters in the district.
This is Cooke's second time running for the seat. During the 2020 primary, she lost to state senator Brad Pfaff.
Republican Derrick Van Orden went on to beat Pfaff in the general election for the seat.
