Wisconsin DMV offers free voter identification ahead of Spring primary

You might already have a valid ID. A driver license, military or student ID card are valid for voting purposes. The new federally compliant REAL IDs are not required, but are also valid. You can find a list of valid identification here.

If you need an ID, visit the DMV's website to find a list of required documents to bring to a local DMV office. You can find your local office here.

If you don't have all the necessary documents available, you may be able to use the DMV's Voter ID Petition Process. The process is free and allows voters to get a valid voting receipt to take to the polls while the remaining documents are gathered.
