'Pedaling for Polio'

'Pedaling for Polio'

LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) - Bike riders came together for the fifth annual "Apple Blossom Bicycle Tour" in La crescent Saturday morning for a good cause.

For the second year, the tour teamed up with the "Lizfest" celebration to benefit the "living for Liz lung cancer programs" as well the "Rotary International Polio Mission."

Bikers were able to choose between five routes and take a casual ride to explore the beauty Minnesota has to offer and of course see the apples ripening.

The tour isn't just about having fun, but also supporting a good cause while getting some exercise.

"I do think people are more health conscious just in general, and I think because they are doing that  they are more aware of events like this that help to perpetuate that. It takes them away from mundane, regular ride they do during the week. This is a special place, we're glad to have people come visit,” Eileen Krenz, Chairwoman of the Apple Blossom tour said.

Three time Tour de France winner Greg LeMond joined the ride again this year.
