Open House held for Health Science Academy students

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) - Students are showing off their knowledge at an annual event Wednesday in La Crosse.

The Health Science Academy students presented the Junior Review and Senior Exit projects at an open house at Gundersen Health System.

Nearly 100 students from eight area schools participated.

The Health Science Academy is a two year program for juniors and senior high school students that are interested in health care professions.

The experience will benefit the students and the community.

"This academy is all about building relationships, building relationships with our staff, building relationships with the other schools, but mostly building relationships with the two hospitals and health care professionals," said Annette O’Hearn, Director of the Health Science Academy.

This is the 10th year of the Health Science Academy.
