For Chuck Oedsma, this is home. Raised in Galesville on the family dairy farm, he is happy to have found a job that keeps him interested and challenged so close to home and family. After graduating from what is now Western Technical College, he spent 14 months working at the local cable company in Winona and La Crosse. In 1987 he started full time at WKBT as a news photographer. Eventually, he became the chief news photographer a couple of years later. Chuck has found working at News 8 has given him great opportunities to meet people and see events firsthand. He currently lives on the family farm and enjoys living close to his extended family.

Favorite food? Breakfast – pancakes, waffles, french toast, sausage, bacon, hash browns, eggs (almost any way), toast, juice, cereal, fruit…
What do you like about your job? I like meeting people. Over the years I have been part of many interviews in many places. It would be impossible to pick one person as a favorite.
Pizza. Sausage, pepperoni or everything on it? Meat, sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, ham, some veggies and pineapple. No cheese. Don’t ask why.
