Lung Cancer Awareness Month aims to undo stigma

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month.

Doctors say lung cancer has a stigma attached to it because of it's relation to smoking.

Doctors say, however, 20 percent of people diagnosed with lung cancer do not have a history of smoking.

Even so, the majority of people with the cancer are smokers or former smokers.

Doctors say survivor rates have advanced with better screening and new drugs used in the disease's advanced stages.
