MADISON, Wis. -- Governor Tony Evers ordered flags to fly at half-staff on Friday in honor of a St. Croix County Sheriff's deputy who was killed in the line of duty Saturday evening.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation said Deputy Kaitie Leising was shot while responding to a report of a drunk driver in a ditch and later died. The suspect in the shooting, 34-year-old Jeremiah Johnson, was later found dead.
