Holmen's Viking Elementary video wins state award

Area students produce awarding winning video

HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) - The importance of school breakfast is highlighted in an award winning video produced by area students.

Members of the Viking Elementary School’s Student Nutritional Advisory Council, known as SNAC, entered into the School Meals Rock - Student Breakfast state-wide video contest.

The students video was awarded 1st place.

The honor comes with a one-thousand dollar check to the SNAC members for their efforts.

"It means a lot because hasn't won it ever at all, so when we won, we were super surprised," said Jack Baranowski, Viking Elementary 4th grader.

"We were super excited we kept talking about it to each other and kept talking,” added Makenna Keer, 4th grader at Viking Elementary.

Holmen's Evergreen Elementary won first place in this contest last year.
