La Crosse man charged in federal court with gun crime

MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) - A La Crosse man is charged in federal court with a gun crime.

A federal grand jury in Madison returned an indictment Wednesday, October 16, charging Martin W. Curlee, Jr., 38, of La Crosse, as a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The charges allege that Curlee possessed a loaded 9mm handgun and 9mm ammunition on October 8, 2019.

If convicted, Curlee faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.

The charge against him is the result of an investigation by the La Crosse Police Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
