LA FARGE, Wis., (WKBT)⯗ Organic Valley, the nation’s largest farmer-owned organic cooperative,â¯donatedâ¯almost 1,600â¯N95â¯protectiveâ¯masks and 700â¯protectiveâ¯gloves Friday afternoon to Vernon County Emergency Managementâ¯in Viroqua. The supplies, which the local cooperative had on-hand for several years, willâ¯helpâ¯emergency managersâ¯inâ¯theirâ¯efforts to continue to care for the communityâ¯when personal protective equipment is scarce.
Vernon County Emergency Managementâ¯supportsâ¯12 fire departments, 12 EMS and first responder groups,â¯nineâ¯law enforcement agencies,â¯fourâ¯long-term care facilities, andâ¯twoâ¯hospitals in the countyâ¯with supplies, materials, andâ¯expertise.
“These protective masks and gloves were in our inventory at our Cashton Distribution Center,” said Jerry McGeorge, executive vice president of People. “We’re happy to share them to helpâ¯protect the safety and welfare of our communities.”
