Big Brothers Big Sisters, Verve host Movie Night

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) - Big Brothers Big Sisters is teaming up with Verve to host a free movie night for La Crosse and neighboring communities.

The event, Movie Night and Food Trucks in the Park, will be held on the North end of Riverside Park in La Crosse, Saturday, June 15. Food and drink will be available for purchase from local food trucks including Fathead Steve's, The Angry Greek, Taco Town, The Pearl Ice Cream, Pearl Street Brewery, and Victor's.

According to a press release, at 8:30 p.m. the movie Ralph Breaks the Internet will be played on an outdoor movie screen provided by Verve.

"We love partnering with local organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, who already do so much good in our community. By working together, we can bring even more energy and enthusiasm, or verve, to La Crosse, which helps make it a great place for kids and families to live, work, and play," says Parker Hanson, Marketing Coordinator at Verve, a Credit Union.

Beginning at 6 p.m., free popcorn will be provided by Great River Popcorn and face painting, temporary tattoos, and yard games for kids is courtesy of Hale Skemp. Mayo Clinic Health System will offer information about trauma and medical emergencies.

Event organizers ask attendees to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show.
