678 drivers cited during first week of hands-free law in Minnesota

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WKBT) - During the first week of the hands-free law, Minnesota law enforcement cited 678 drivers statewide for violating the law.

Winona County had one citation given, while the most were written in Hennepin County with 286.

Following the passing of the law, it is now illegal to hold your phone in your hand while driving in Minnesota. It's still illegal to text, video stream, access apps and the internet while driving.
