News 8 Eye Piece: Prayer

Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration

In this week’s Eye Piece, News 8 Chief Photographer Chuck Oedsma visits the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration at St. Rose on Market Street in La Crosse.

“Since 1878 we’ve had perpetual adoration,” said Eucharistic Prayer Coordinator Sister Ronalda Hophan.

There are normally two people praying for about an hour at a time. They usually change at the top of the hour.

“You can talk to God wherever you are,” Sister Ronalda said. “You can talk to God laying in bed at night. So for prayer, there is no one good way. It’s what you do.

Sister Ronalda says she gets prayer requests from all over the world.

“I get prayers for the weather, prayers for dogs and cats, too,” Sister Ronaldo said with a smile. “It’s just about talking to God.”

Every Friday on News 8 at 6, we’ll feature a photo essay from our talented photographers.
