New safety measures in place for Eau Claire Area School District
A little more than 20% students will learn entirely online
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WKBT) – The school year starts Tuesday for many students.
In Eau Claire, there will be a hybrid model of instruction with students learning online and in-person classes on a rotating basis.
Schools will have enhanced cleaning on Wednesdays and weekends.
That will help ensure furniture allows for social distancing, scrubbing of all floors and high touch areas.
There is a lot to plan for but district leaders have spent months preparing.
“We’ve been doing so in June and July and even so in August would be to minimize that risk by our smaller cohorts of students where we would normally have lets say have 28 in a class, well we’ve cut it down to 14,” said Eau Claire Area School District Superintendent Mike Johnson
A little more than 20 percent of the students in the district are taking their classes entirely online.
The virtual learning program will start September 8th.
