New men’s home provides opportunity in Monroe County
Home joins women's home which was open since 2009
SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) – A new resource is available for men in Monroe County.
‘The Men’s Home’ is a new effort from the Sojourner’s Journey organization in Sparta
A ribbon cutting was held Thursday morning.
The space the space to help men that were recently in jail, homelessness or are dealing with substance abuse.
And as men come into the home, staff will help assess the needs to provide personalized help.
For the home’s first resident, the space is an opportunity for a new beginning.
“It means so much to me. I never thought I would be clean. And then just to be able to a sober living house and be the first man here, is just amazing to me,” said Martin Trujillo, who lives at the home.
A Sojourner’s Journey women’s home in Sparta was opened in 2009.
