New garden at Northside Elementary in La Crosse to help grow learning opportunities

Garden supported by the FSPA 'Seeding a Legacy of Healing' effort

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A new learning opportunity is growing on La Crosse’s north side.

Students from Northside Elementary School came together to help plant a new garden.

Members of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and Logan Northside Neighborhood Association also assisted.

The program is part of the FSPA’s ‘Seeding a Legacy of Healing’ effort.

Lessons learned in the garden will help kids to love what the earth provides.

“For these children to be invited to really love mother earth at this young age, it’s going to have a profound influence on the rest of their lives,” said Sister Anita Beskar.

Two more gardens, at Logan High School and North Community Library, will also be supported by the effort.
