New community center coming to Holmen
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — A new construction project in Holmen hopes to provide a space for people of all ages.
On Saturday the Boys and Girls Club of Greater La Crosse hosted a fundraiser for the new Holmen Area Club and Community Center.
$3.5 million is the goal for the multifunctional facility, which will provide a Boys and Girls Club space, programs for retired adults, and space to rent for meetings and events.
One community member says they are confident they will be able to reach their fundraising goal.
“Today is an example of what a generous community we have, and we’re just really thankful for all the people that have come together and got us to where we are today, we’ve got some work to do but I feel confident with the generosity of this community, we’re going to make it happen,” Jake Erickson, the executive director of Boys and Girls Club of Greater La Crosse, said.
Over $2 million was raised today for the 50,000 square foot facility.
