NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships underway in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Hundreds of athletes and fans are pouring into UW-La Crosse this weekend for the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.
Action starts Thursday as athletes from around the country have flocked to the area.
After hosting the championships just five years ago, organizers hope to see more record fall on and off the track again this year.
“Phenomenal place to host the largest of all NCAA Division III Championships. Excited to see if we can break a record for attendance like we did in last time we hosted in 2013,” said Jeremiah Burish, Director of Sports Sales and Events with Explore La Crosse.
There’s more track and field action in La Crosse next week, the WIAA State Track and Field meet returns to Veterans Memorial Stadium a week from Friday.
