National Women’s Health Day has La Crosse locals stretching out on the street
Northside Yoga in the Street
LA CROSSE, Wisc. (WKBT) — Caledonia Street from Clinton Street to St. Paul Streets were closed from 5 to 8 pm on the Northside of La Crosse on Tuesday. Making room for locals to bring out their mats and do some yoga.
Yoga in the Street is a joint effort event put on by Essential Health Clinic and Root Down Yoga in La Crosse. The Yoga event occurs every Tuesday following Mother’s Day.
The event is in honor of National Women’s Health Week where Essential Health Clinic holds events all week long.
Yoga on the Street was a free event but participants were asked to bring a toiletry item or used clothing.
Those items were then donated to local domestic abuse shelters and Amy’s Closet.
Co-directors of Essential Health clinic say, “We wanted to do something to bring the businesses on Caledonia Street together so we partnered with Root Down Yoga, and Mocha in La Crosse has made donations. So we’re kind of coming together as a community to support women.”
The Wine for Women’s Health fundraiser is a part of National Women’s Health Week, which takes place Wednesday night at Days Inn La Crosse Hotel and Conference Center from 5:30 until 8:30 pm.
All proceeds from Wine for Women’s Health event provide services to the underserved in the La Crosse community.
