National Night Out in Monroe County canceled
TOMAH, Wis. (WKBT)–Organizers for the Monroe County National Night Out have canceled the event for the summer of 2020 due to COVID-19.
The date for the original event was August 4th, and was a group decision with recommendations from the Monroe County Health Department.
“It’s a difficult decision, but I think the decision to cancel the event is appropriate,” said Tomah Police Chief Mark Nicholson.
Held annually, the event’s goal is to bridge the gap between local police departments and the citizens they serve.
