National Guard troops traveling to Washington D.C. to provide support ahead of inauguration
About 500 troops will travel to Washington D.C.
MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) – About 500 members of the Wisconsin National Guard will be traveling to Washington D.C.
The troops will support civil authorities in the national capital region in advance of the presidential inauguration.
Soldiers from various Wisconsin Army National Guard units, as well as Airmen from Wisconsin Air National Guard units will arrive in joining the effort.
Additional Guard troops were mobilized earlier this week to support security efforts at Wisconsin’s capitol in Madison.
