Myrick Park Center hosts winter farmers market
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — With the cold weather coming, many events will no longer be held outdoors. But those who still want to go to the farmers market don’t have to worry.
The La Crosse Farmers Market Association held and indoor farmers market at La Crosse’s Myrick Park Center Sunday. The market was held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Although the main growing season has passed, the market still includes winter vegetables, fruit, baked goods, meats, artisan crafts and more.
Those running the event say the market is about more than what’s being sold.
“I love the people here. I mean it’s just a great environment. I don’t really feel like I’m coming here to work, I feel like I’m coming here to hang out with everybody. Everyone is just so great to work with. It’s definitely different because these are people’s farms. This is their own craft so they really care about what they’re selling,” said Farmers Market assistant manager, Hanna O’Brien.
For those who missed today’s market, don’t worry. The Myrick Park Center will host the market every Sunday from 10 a.m.to 1 p.m.through December.
