Multiple agencies battle structure fire in La Crescent
LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) — Multiple fire departments fought an apartment fire on N. 3rd Street in La Crescent Wednesday afternoon.
The call came in at about 1:07 p.m. When our news photographer arrived on scene, flames and billowing smoke appeared to be coming out of the upper level of the two-story building.
The La Crescent fire chief says 3 families were forced out of their apartments. Two adults and two children were inside the building when the fire started. They were able to make it out unharmed. No one was injured during the fire.
The fire chief says the building is a total loss and the state fire marshal is on scene investigating.
The Campbell, Hokah and Caledonia Fire Departments helped the La Crescent Fire Department with this incident. The Houston County Sheriff’s Office was also on scene.
