Mt. La Crosse opens some slopes
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — One local business is excited for our colder temperatures.
Mount La Crosse opened to the public Thursday, and hopes to remain open through the weekend. Crews began making snow earlier this month, and with the help of Mother Nature, a few slopes are ready for skiers and snowboarders.
Managers are excited for their earliest open in a few years.
“We definitely have been overdue for a nice long season, so we’re hopeful that’s what this means, but regardless of what this season does after today, we’re just glad we’re actually able to get open,” said Mt. La Crosse General Manager Darcie Breidel.
The Midway and Mileway slopes are open at this time. Crews are moving the snow machines to the other side of the hills to help cover the rest of the runs.
