Mt. La Crosse making snow ahead of opening
Social distancing measures will be in place at opening
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Skiers and snowboarders won’t have to wait much longer to hit the slopes.
Crews at Mount La Crosse are busy preparing for the season.
Our cooler temperatures mean crews can finally start making snow.
Now entering their 61st season, staff say they can’t wait to welcome the community back for some fun.
“We’re doing everything we can to get open as soon as possible. I think that this year more than ever, it’s important for us to be. I think it’s necessary for us to be open. We’re going to be a healthy thing for people to do this winter,” said Mt. La Crosse general manager Darcie Briedel.
Don’t go running to the hill just yet, Mount La Crosse hopes to open in mid-December.
New this year, safety measures in place for social distancing.
Because of the pandemic, some indoor services like the kitchen and bar will not be available. Right now some chalet services are only closed for opening weekend — they hope to open them back up soon after opening weekend.
