Motorcyclist from Red Wing dies following crash in Allamakee County
ALLAMAKEE COUNTY, Iowa (WKBT)– A biker from Redwing, Minnesota, is dead after he was thrown from his motorcycle in Allamakee County.
The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office said the 911 Dispatch Center received a report of a single occupant motorcycle crash at 11:38 a.m. Saturday. The crash was reported on County Road X52 approximately three miles north of Harpers Ferry, Iowa.
The motorist was traveling southbound on County Road X52, when he failed to navigate a curve in the road. He was thrown from the motorcycle.
The unidentified man was then transported by an ambulance to a hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The driver died of his injuries sustained from the crash.
The driver’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of family members.
The Harpers ferry Fire and Rescue Service, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
