Most residents moved out from a Vernon County mobile home park with sewer problems
Green Acres Mobile Home Estate near Viroqua is permanently closing; the owners never received grants to fix sanitation system
FRANKLIN, Wis. (WKBT) – An update on the Viroqua area mobile home park closing due to sewer problems, as more than two dozen people lived at Green Acres Mobile Home Estate.
An attorney representing the owner of the park tells News 8 Now most have moved somewhere else.
As we first reported in July, the Vernon County Zoning & Sanitation Department says all of the park’s sanitation systems needed to be either abandoned or replaced.
A document from the department shows replacement would cost roughly $90,000.
Because the owners were not offered any grants, the park will close.
Those living in the upper portion of the park must be out by tomorrow, Sept. 30.
Lower park residents need to move out by Oct. 29.
