News 8’s Martha Boehm took a road trip with a friend to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in Bayfield, Wisconsin in March to see the ice caves.
2. Weekend storm damage 6-28-14
Severe weather hit the La Crosse area on Saturday, June 28 leaving thousands without power and some with serious storm damage. Trees and brush were down throughout the city, some bringing power lines with them.
3. La Crosse Blue Stars 50th anniversary
The La Crosse Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014. The Blue Stars shared pictures of the Corps through the years.

Green Bay Packers inside linebacker A.J. Hawk came to La Crosse on Wednesday, May 28 to take a ride with the Blue Angels.
6. Freedom Honor Flight 9-20-14
On Saturday, September 20, about 100 veterans who fought in WWII and the Korean War left La Crosse to spend a day in Washington, D.C. As part of the Freedom Honor Flight, the veterans visited the war memorials.
7. Blue Angels at the Deke Slayton Airfest 2014
The Blue Angels were the featured attraction at the Deke Slayton Airfest on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, June 1 in La Crosse.
8. Freedom Honor Flight 5-17-14
On Saturday, May 17, 2014, 93 veterans from the tri-state area went on a Freedom Honor flight to visit the war memorials in Washington, D.C.

Mammatus clouds and the low sun put on quite the show in the sky on the evening of Monday, June 30. Mammatus clouds are a sign of turbulent air, usually before or after thunderstorms.
10. WIAA State Track & Field Championships 2014
The WIAA State Track & Field Championships began on Friday, June 6. Events were suspended for about two hours in the afternoon due to a storm that rolled in.
