More than $900,000 collected in parking fines in La Crosse in 2019
More than 118,000 violations recorded by license plate recognition system at parking city parking ramps
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – $907,885.80 of parking citations were issued in 2019 in the City of La Crosse.
That was part of the Parking Utility Report was released Monday morning at a board of Public Works meeting.
That is about 17 dollars for each of the 53,183 citations given during the year.
And more than 118,000 violations were recorded by new license plate recognition systems in ramps.
While some changes were added to the ramps in 2019, more changes could be on the way.
“We’re in the middle of a parking study, so we are working with some consultants to give us recommendations, suggestions on our parking in the city,” siad Greg Elsen, City of La Crosse Parking Utility Coordinator.
$282,154.04 in pay station and app payment fees were collected at city parking ramps.
