More details released in La Crosse shooting near 5th and Winnebago
Police are looking for two people of interest
LA CROSSE, Wis. — La Crosse police say a 24-year-old woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a late Sunday night shooting near 5th Avenue and Winnebago Street.
When police arrived on scene, they found a woman in her vehicle at 5th and Market Street. Police say she was shot in the lower back.
The victim was transported to Gundersen, had surgery and is in stable condition.
Police say the shooting happened at about 11:50 p.m. Sunday. Preliminary reports indicate there were about 15 people at the scene, but police say “very little reliable information was obtained through police interviews.”
No arrests have been made, but La Crosse police have identified two people of interest that they would like to speak with:
-Cordero L. Short, 21, with a last known address out of Chicago. Police say he is black, 5’10” and weighs 210 pounds. (Pictured below.)
-Terrel L. Adams, 24, with a last known address out of Illinois. Police say he is black, 5’8″ and weighs 158 pounds. (Not pictured – La Crosse police did not have a photo.)
La Crosse police are obtaining and reviewing video from local businesses as part of the investigation.
