Moon Tunes returns for special concert fundraiser

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)– Going out to enjoy some Moon Tunes usually means grabbing a blanket or lawn chairs for a concert in Riverside Park. But Saturday night, people got to enjoy the sounds of summer indoors at Celebrations by the River.

The bands ‘Tugg’ and ‘Slow No Wake’ jammed out for the special event.

While Moon Tunes is normally free, this time, money raised by ticket sales will support the organization. And it will also help the Riverfest Commodore Foundation, which provides medical assistance to area children.

If you missed the event, there’s still a lot to look forward to this summer.

“We’ve got Irene Keenan is going to be a Tina Turner tribute. We’ve got Ryan Howe coming back with a fun night. Reed Grimm who was an American Idol finalist will be on the stage in June. Along with Greg Belfany and the jazz orchestra. So lots of exciting stuff,” said Terry Bauer, co-founder for Moon Tunes.

Bauer said Bill Miller and drummers from the Ho-Chunk Nation will kick off Moon Tunes on June 4th.
